tach not working

tach not working
i got a 91 si hatch. oem tach works when i start it but when i rev on it it does nothing. sometimes i get the famous honda "surge" and the tach still doesnt move, just comes up when i start the car. any suggestions

I would say it probably something with your wiring, check the wiring coming from your dizzy to your cluster. Maybe its a pinched/chewup wire. Or it could be the cluster itself is fucked.
