Default Suzuki XL7 Droning Noise

My wife's 2004 Suzuki XL7 2wd has been making an increasingly louder humming noise coming from the rear for the past few weeks. My first thought was bearings, but there is absolutely no play in the wheels. What would it sound like if the rear diff went bad? I'm at the point where I think I'm about ready to take it to the dealer, but I'm not quite ready to bend over for that one. If it's the diff I'm covered under warranty, if its the bearings I don't wanna go to suzuki. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked the rear diff fluid recently?

Bearings should also be covered by the warranty but if you're not sure just call the dealership and find out. Is the tire balanced propperly, normal tire wear even accross the tire?

Sounds like a rear diff.

If you find you need a new one (used) Call Aftermarket4x4 in Chesapeake, he specializes in Zuk's and probably has one.

thanks for the replies, I picked up the rear last night and put it in drive. I noticed a slight wobble in the wheel that it sounds like it is coming from. Hopefully it is just way out of balance. if not ill check the diff fluid tonight. thanks for the ideas.
