Default Starting problem

Okay 96 Honda civic just installed a new clutch and started car let it run for about 15 min and turned it off now the car won't start back up just turns over i smell the gas and I hear the fuel pump and back fires but won't start any ideas has a ls vtec

Check spark? Coil might have gone bad.

Has fuel has spark motor cranks fine everything seems good kinda read about the main relay and says after the motor is hot the car could have trouble starting

I know weird huh considering the car was turned off like the post says....... Anyway the car runs and hasn't had a starting problem
