Default Starter issues

I have a 00 Integra with a remote starter installed on the car. Here recently I have been having some problems with the car starting, with the remote and with the key. About a week ago, the car wouldn't start, so I ended up removing the negative terminal from the battery, reconnecting it, and the car started. Now the car won't start again, and I tried the same trick and it still won't start. So I tried to push start it (it is a 5speed obviously), and it will start that way. First I would assume the starter is bad, but is there something I could check with the remote start to see if that is causing the issue too? Any help is appreciated.
