nope it turns out i do need some help

does anyone know what im missing in the shifting area here







it looks like there is something that is supposed to go in this slit here






all thats happening now is that the shifter sucks dick and you can spin it 360 in its socket.

You're missing a few parts.

well the kit was supposed to eliminate almost half of that. only the boot and the hole cover remain. you are supposed to drop the new shifter in and then put a fat cylindrical ring then the green bar over that and tightne but no worky

But you still need that alignment socket, spring, and two snaps rings, or at least the alignment socket. Depending on how the green plate is designed, it may eliminate the snap rings, but that will be really easy to see just by looking at it.. Did this car come in pieces? Why are you missing all that stuff?

Oh, you're still missing whatever locates the mounting holes for the green plate obviously, it's been too long and I can't remember how that thing mounts..

the shifter came in pieces yea haha. and i do have the mounting hardware for the green bracket thingy

Aside from the boots and retaining parts (which you wouldn't want to do) you can't eliminate much from the diagram I posted and still have a working shifter.

Sounds like you might be missing a few pieces to the kit or it expects you to reuse the stock ones.

id prolly try the dealership honestly or mayb check a junkyard and btw is that a tomei shifter?

man dealerships are bobo. yea i think the guy said it is a tomei, why is tomei notoriously gay?

i see what i need its the 3rd piece down on the left of the diagram. the socket mating surface to housing and control lever

now to track down one.ideas? does it have to come from a sr20det tranny? dealership is gunna be my last resort btw.
