Get some new tools and take care of them properly 
Or if the tools you have now are Craftsmen just take them in and get some new ones. I've done that quite a few times with rusty screwdrivers I've found laying around

get a large container and fill it (after placing the tools you want cleaned) with ATF. let them/it soak. just cover the tools, don't drown them. give that a try! oh! and use the cheapest stuff you can get hold of!

I take care of my tools but with my craftsman pliers I took a boot polish dober to them with black polish then buffed it out. They hold up better should there be a short term water problem.
