It's VTEC, not vtech... and did you hook up the VTEC solenoid? Do you have a VTEC ECU or some sort of switch for it?

if you are not throwing any codes be it a vtec ecu then it is going thru vtec... you don't have to hear it to know you hit vtec....

in sohc cars with lil work done to them. you really dont notice vtec to much. but the best way to find out if it is working, is just bairly get on the throttle in first gear and just let the rpms build slowly and then once it hits 5200? you should notice a change in the speed. just my oppion

my f22 hit VTEC HARD and it was a SOHC VTEC. You could definately tell it was hitting vtec especially if u let rpms build slowly. Just do what that guy told you to, drive slowly in 1st and then press the pedal a bit and around 4k for me, 5200 probably for u, u will notice the car want to take off a bit more.

You won't notice a change in speed, D16's aren't very quick at all. And I'm not being hypocritical, because I own one, lol On my SOHC, I can't even hear it compared to my old b16a2. You won't be able to hear it.
Are you throwing a CEL at all?

You will barely feel VTEC on those D16's. Mine was even boosted. Still couldnt feel it. Best thing to do is splice a low resistance LED to that solenoid. If the light comes on between 5000-5500 RPM, then VTEC works. Unless of course you want to buy my VAFC . I'll hook it up for you and you'd be able to see it on the screen when VTEC engages.....
