Exclamation So what wires go where on my civic?

So what wires go where?

I have a Problem. I did an engine swap on my 1995 civic ex and in the process I think I must have broken a wire or two in the harness. The engine revs constantly at idle. I’ve put two idle air control valves and that never fixed the problem. So first where do the two wires go that come from the sensor? And the other problem is the speedometer, I’ve also tried a few sensors that go into the transmission for that. What do those three wires run too?

Thanks
Josh

They're all in the harness. If you are trying to find a break in the harness, either tear it apart or do some testing. But, they all run into the harness. Now the speedometer, its possible you clipped it in, while being in a moisturized sensor and blew a fuse. I think its fuse 15. Check your Alt/speedo fuse to see if thats blown.

Now, you could also have the IAT and IAC sensor plugs mixed up, which will also cause you to burn a little resistor in your ecu and it won't idle 100% again until you get that repaired.

I agree with the above but not to insult your intelligience, but make sure that there is no air in your cooling system as well.

I just checked all of the fuses with a tester. And they're all good. As for the IAT and IAC sensor plugs, what color are the wires on each? So can confirm the correct location.
Can I run new wires for each and plug those into the ecu?

Yea it would help if you posted the motor and the year whether its obd1-2....

Maybe take pics of what u might think is damaged or not functioning...that might give us a little better understanding of what's wrong.

-i do agree with making sure u have no air in your cooling system.
1. Flush your cooling system and put a funnel on your radiator and poor untill its full. Then turn on the car with the funnel still on the radiator and pour while its on untill filled...make sure u wait untill it starts to bubble then put the cap on and let it warm up all the way and u should be good with that.

As far as ur wiring goes...take pictures what your confused with.

Check your throttle cable too, I've seen where installing that back on sometimes especially with a different motor the adjustment is off.
