sleeving honda blocks
Should i sleeve my h22a if i get forged pistons? Ive heard that they sink. they will be high compression pistons. If I need to sleeve it, what would be the best sleeves to get. Thanks

Re: sleeving honda blocks
If you want to run forged pistons you HAVE to sleeve a h22 block. There is no getting around it. There are "rumors" that coating the pistons work, but it hasn't been proven yet. The cyl walls on the h series motors are FRM, can't be honed, and can't run forged pistons. The choice is up to you, any iron dextile will work i guess?
*edit: they "can" be honed... so that wasn't totally true. but only to about .02"

Wiesco sopposedly has a pistion out that will work but i have seen !0! proof that it does yet, and by people saying you can't run forged internals in them oh by all means you can but it won't run long. Also the machining to do a H series block is more expensive than a B since it needs a special Bit to cut through that FRM bullshit, it is a very long drownout process cut around 5 times, back off clean bit clean surface cut 5 back off blah blah blah. is your H a open or closed deck? closed deck sleeves are usually cheaper for a H

hey man if you have a closed deck block buy the darton replacement sleeves its only like 100 for the set and have a good shop install them like abacus racing theyve done some nice h23/h22 blocks
