Shifting Problems
Ok i just need ideas before i go spend alot of money on parts i dont need. So here is my problem my car was shifting fine untill i stopped at the gas station. After that i couldnt put it into reverse or first gear, so i finially jamed it into reverse and got on the high way. while driving on the highway it was hard to switch to 2nd threw 5th like i had to put alot more strengh into it and third Grinding also. So i check my tranny fluid and put more into it its fine. Try and put it back in first wont go gotta slam it or turn the car off then put it into 1st so any input on this would be apprecated. Thanks
if you pull the tranny and only replace the throwout bearing...you need more help...unless its a brand new clutch..
and check and see if the slave cylinder is working like it should...

its a 96 civic coupe with a ls vtec swap, never done this before so im unsure why its doing this. Its just weird normally its like butter going into a gear now its like i gotta put some ass behind my shifts which is annoying cause when comming to a red light i need to let it grind and slam it into first gear
havent been said ,but you said you just lowered your car a few days a go and then all this started to happen .you might have bottome out somewheres. have you checked your shift linkage bushins ?and check to see if you havent bent your shift linkage since you just lowered your car . i have had one bend on me and also have had the bushin dry rot out of it and it will do what you have described cause that will throw the alignment off for shiftin and make it hard to shift into a gear/and really sloppy shifts. . just another sugestion , cheap , easy to check.
