Default s2000 issues

I test drove a s2k the other day ago and when I was at 4000 rpm in gear and just let off the gas a vibration and a little noise came from the tranny area. the guy said it was okay and he asked some people on a forum about it and they said it is normal. well it didn't feel normal to me so what do you guys think or have you heared about this?

Depending on what year the car is, its called clutch buzz, some dealers will cover the repair for free others wont. Honda issued a TSB on that and other things on earlier S2000s

What year S2000 were you driving? Like Slozuki mentioned, the MY2000 s2000s have the clutch buzz which is neither good nor bad but does become annoying to hear. I had the dealership repair mine for free when they were repairing my rear diff.

slowrsx, I'm the person that Adam asked about this issue for you. Its just a bothersome noise, no damage being caused - that is why Honda did a TSB and not a full blown recall on it.

TSB: Honda pays for it if the car is still under warranty, you pay for it if the warranty is up.

Recall: Honda pays for it no matter what.
