s13 240. horrible rattling sound, grinds in every gear above 2g
my 1991 nissan 240sx se had a problem. i just put a new motor and trans into it. drove it over 500 miles and all of a sudden i hear this rattle at idle. sounds as if it is coming from the bell housing. so i pulled the trans out. what i found was the fork was not clipped to the throw out bearing. it was just sitting on the input shaft. so i clipped it back on and went to go see if that solved the problem and it didnt. new master cylinder, slave cylinder, new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. i dont know what is going on. any ideas or info???

Did you change out the pilot bearing inside the output shaft?
That's the only thing I can think of that you left out that could cause noise if it is worn out.

Wow. Didn't even read that in the title, lol. No, it should not.
You put GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil in transmission? Only ask, because I have heard of people having issues with gl-5 eating up the syncros.
And have you adjusted the clutch master cylinder shaft? Maybe it is not getting full strokes and not building enough pressure. And the slave cylinder has been bled I assume?
