ok i got auto so im thinkink it might be slipping, im cruising in d4 at around 3k, and it sometimes drops and rises about 200rpms, not letting off the gas at all though.whats the deal it kind feels like its dropping gears and then going back but its not that much of a drop at the rpms?

Since you didn't mention the idle being off that would rule out a solenoid problem...have you checked out your fuel system? My hunch would be either the fuel filter or injectors may be clogged. I would think if it was a tranny problem it would just rev up and not down. If it IS fuel, the computer would keep trying to compensate. Personally I would trial and error starting with running premium with a fuel injector cleaner and replacing the fuel filter; not a lot of cash. Then the plugs...see if they're black or wet with fuel. I could be completely off base, but I hope that helps. Good luck.

It could be that the tranny is a spot where it wants to shift gears but when it does it thinks it needs to shift back up and then back down like it is confused. Next time it does it try giving a little more gas and see what it does.

I don't know much about imports, but that sounds like the torque converter locking and unlocking.

My girls escort does the EXACT same thing, except it feels more like it shifted into too high a gear so i get no response until i lift my foot all the way off then back on again.
