Cool Rotating a turbo

Ok I just bought a Turbonetics t3/t4 turbo for my d series. Now i need to spin the compressor side and the center where the oil comes in and drains about 20-30 degrees so they are completely straight up and down. Now am i correct to just loosen the bolts on the compressor side slightly and spin it? If so what about getting the center completely vertical? Any advice will be apriciated.

loosen both the compressor side and the exhaust side then you can spin everything wherever you want it.

^yup, as stated above. To add some precaution to that, if this is a used turbo especially, spray some penetrating oil like PB Blaster over night along the areas of the mid-section. This will preserve the midshaft seal a little bit.
