Default rod options

so im building a turbo a6...

got the whole turbo kit (wrx turbo, charge pipe w/2 dsm injectors and 3bar map sensor, the whole 9-yards) $300
i got the engine for $100...

i want to get some low comp pistons (vitara?) but what are my options on rods? im aiming for just sub-300 hp... can ls rods withstand that?

im on a $1000 budget, so... forged rods are probably out of the question (i dont wanna drop half my budget on just rods...)

any ideas?

I'm pretty sure you have to cut the block to clear LS rods.

nope, just shave a little off the sides of the bearing caps (like .02mm) and they fit fine...

They should be fine at 300 as long as they're in good shape.

Just make sure you upgrade the rod bolts.

They make a few lower price nice rods scat tuner toys and fjtdistributors has two different ones. One is regular rod length and the other is custom length to bump up compression for the vitaras. What happened to the zc you where getting. I remember you from another website we were both on crx resource or community one of those sites. Maybe you should try a site that is more geared to what you are trying to do or a better place to research atleast. So dont waste your time on getting the LS rods machined and maybe you should save up some more money because thats not gonna cover it.
