I had 550lb-ft on it with a nice 1/2" impact gun and it didnt budge so I used the old fashioned way and it came right off.

i used a 19mm socket and a breaker bar and tried to start the car and it broke the bolt loose...cant remember who told me to do it but it worked with the first crank, but then again my bolt had been taken off about 2 weeks prior to that so its probably not as tight as yours is but it should work the same way

3/4 Impact and a 6 point 19mm socket like stated above. You will need over 120 psi.

Don't be an idiot and start the car with a breaker on it.

i know its not safe or the correct way, but it works. take out the fuel pump fuse, attach breaker bar and angle it towards the ground and turn the engine over once or twice. when the bolt breaks loose (and hopefully it doesnt round off), the breaker bar will fall to the ground.

we have a tool from snap-on that makes it mucho easier since many times even 120psi wont budge the fockers.

Well it didnt work. I put it in 5th gear held the brakes and the motor turn freely. So I didnt get it broke loose so i gotta get the tool to do it or the impact so either one will work but i like to get it done as soon as possible. Thanks for your's input. I cant wait intill the timing is done for I can put that b17 down in my crx it will be quick as hell. I cant wait intill the timing is done.

using the starter and a breaker bar (your lug wrench should also work well), just remove the harness from the disty so the car doesn't start. just angle the bar so the ground keeps it from turning, and get in a tap the key.
