Default regarding to o2 censors

my o2 censors on my 4 cylinder has been disconnected for about a year now. when i replaced my cat with a custom testpipe, the censors bent and broke.
question:
are there any long term damages to the engine if the o2 censors arent connected as soon as possible?
could i use a universal o2 censors or use an oem censors?
thanks.

I dont think it would hurt anything, except maybe a check engine light

your car wont know how much fuel to let in with however much air your pulling in (by giving it gas)

you probably get really shitty MPG compared to what you'd have with a good one.

your car probably bucks a little bit..right?
