welll i just got exhaust on my car and now i cant even acclerate witout the car making this loud popping sound kinda lieka clicking...andd it not only makes the noise but i cant accelerate hardly at all its very slow. the thing is it did it before the exhaust, just not alot, now its everytime i get into drive and louder...just wondering if anyone knew what it might be.

 

the loud poping noise is from fuel not igniting then hits hte hot exahsut pipes then exploodes sorta back fires.... hotmar i go to grafton to so if u need help with your car ill be glad to helpu but... also what was lastitme u got tune up.. including rotor/cap, plugs , wires.... and so on fuel filter, that type stufff some might help nad otheres wont help at all but that liek good tune up u coudl do that will help your car out in long wrong..

 

i havent had a tune up for awhile, but its not really a back fire its not one loud pop its like click click click click clikc and just wont go any faster no matter how much i accelerate...im thinkin mabe spark plugs or timing belt??? i really wanna fix it soon

 

Is it an exhaust leak? I have blown the exhaust gasket and it makes a ticking sound. I would also use FEL-PRO gaskets if it is an exhaust leak. Timing and tune up will do wonders for your car. Check around your headder and around every exhaust flange. You might have a leak.

 

what did you do with the gaskets when you did your exhaust? Replace them or re-use them? If you didn't replace them...well it's probably an exhaust leak.

 

when he says exhuast he means muffler im assuming hotmar...

 

nahh i mean i got alll new 2.5 inch piping and the muffler

even if it is an exhaust leak its still gonna accelerate normally, i have an extreme exhaust leak but theres no problems in acceleration, its just annoying as hell.........
