Default quick question

just replaced a clutch in a 91 hatch, it ran fine before we replaced it but now it starts for about 3 seconds and throws a cel then cuts off, he doesnt have an o2 sensor on it but it ran with out one before replacing the clutch, i know thats probably the obvious answer just seeing if there was possibly something else

also the car gets a little smoky inside and smells like gas after it cuts off

vacuum hoses are mixed up or sensors somwhere..since its 91 hatch, prolly vacuum, check the lines. its not the o2 sensor. ive ran years without one of those.

buddy of mine's car did the exact same thing. It was a short in the wiring for a injector. Check the cell is the first thing i would do, but his did the exact same thing, somehow making the injector spray wide open. The ecu noticed it and would shut the car off.
