I hit my airbag kind of hard the other day with my hand and it seems to be a little bit flimsy in the center now. The airbag didn't go off or anything like that, it just seems that it may have compromised the integrity of it.

My question is does anyone know what could have happened? Is it worth having it replaced? I really don't know anything about the engineering behind or the process of airbag deployment so any help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

 

you probably didnt hit the actual airbag. There is a cover on the airbag that splits in half when the bag deploys. But there is line in the cover that is meant to break easily so you probably broke that but didnt rip the vinyl.

you dont have to buy the whole airbag you can just get the cover if you care about it.
