Default Problems with header install

I was putting a header on my car and the bolts that i go from the dealership are a bit too long. Can i put washer in between the bolts and the head to offset the distance. Also does anyone know a good cam for a 89 jetta 8v????? Thanks in advance.

if you put it under the head of the bolt, as to take up the free space, you should be fine. if you are stupid enough put it between the head and the header...you deserve the exhaust leak you are gonna have.

you need 8x50 by 30 or 35 long use the metal exhaust gaskets and torque the bolts to 19 ftp a 260 or a 268 cam works good in the 8valve motors
