Default probably a dumb question

does driving on the interstate, say from 60-80mph, in a boosted car, but in vacuum, like, 10inHG, put any more stress on yer motor than stock would?

ive always wondered this, im not building boost, im in vacuum, but for some reason i have a feeling its still putting some sorta stress on the motor more than stock.

i really doubt it, since you're probably making less than 50hp when cruising at those speeds, but I don't have a fancy technical answer for you.

no, driving in vacuum does NOT affect the lifetime of the engine, no matter what speed.

If you are in vacuum you are not producing boost. Therefore cylinder pressure does not increse and cylinder temp does not rise. So no harm

actually you are putting a little more strain on the motor then you would NA but it's such a small difference that it doesnt matter. remember, WOT on an NA motor reads about 0psi. -10/hg is relatively close to WOT on an NA motor...
