When I'm sitting in 5th gear and step on it sometimes the shifter will pop out of gear. Anybody know what may cause this and how to fix it?

 

Check the trany fluid/grease.

damn man looks like you got a HELLAAA AWESOME swap.........and definitely double check your fluids, low fluids can cause your shit to whine really loud and will tend to not want to stay in gear because of all the lovely friction going on with no lube.....and you also might have a beat to hell tranny where 5th gear was ground often, and the teeth arent catching, hopefully not though........

Worn engine mounts and worn bearings (excessive play) on the gear selector shaft will cause the trani to pop out of gear. What kind of car it this?

 

I checked the fluid and it was low, so I put some in and it seems fine. thanks
