Default Oil Lights

Girlfriend's Saturn has an oil light.

How do you re-set these things?

No.

It's a reminder light, not a low oil light.

I know someone here knows the secret.

Nope.

I think I found the answer...

"Turn ignition switch to on. Locate the fuse box under the hood on driver’s side. Remove cover and depress OIL-R button. Light should flash indicating reset. Instructions are located on fuse box cover."

Old enough to be changed, why does it matter?

thats the purpose of the light, my mom has a Saturn and the dealer basically told her to never let the light come on, its more of a "Change Oil Now" Light than a reminder, change the oil

what year?

GM's resets are varied per year, but most either have a little red reset button in the fuse panel, or you follow the procedure outlined in the owners manual...

RTFM!!

btw, if you dont have the manual, post what year and i can look it up. it is one of two ways:

reset button

or

cycle key on, engine off, depress accel. pedal three times to WOT within five seconds. wait till light flashes and stops flashing. turn key off. start engine.
