Default OEM honda civic CD player

i have a 97 honda civic ex, and i was wondering what year/model HONDA OEM CD player would fit in my car? i know the 96-98 cd player will fit but im looking for either an acura one or a SI cd player which i believe lights up amber in color?

i believe a GSR cd player will fit but im not sure completely, and does it matter if my car is obd2a and if the cd player is (lets say out of a 99-00 SI?)

thankx in advance

i just went through the same thing dude. i got a 96 DX hatch that i was trying to put an si CD player in. does your factory harness have the plugs for the back of the player?

there are a few different things i found on google. search factory civic wiring harness and you should be able to get more information

well my civic is an ex so i believe there is a spot in the harness for it? i mean i have a CD player in there now and all i needed was an adapter harness for it? i mean dont EX have the option of getting CD players?

but ne wayz...did you need to do any modification to your harness or did you just buy one of those harnessse and plug it in?

well when i bought my EK the harness had been hacked so there was no plug. NO ONE in the area ie: DAS, GO-HO ect. could put a 99 si radio in it because they dont carry the plugs. so i got an aftermarket one put in. well after searching the web i found places like installer.com who sell em. so now im going to buy the plugs and put it in my self. so really you can put any factory radio in that you want... you just have to be sure that the male and female connectors are the same.

tahts what i was saying...so if your harness was hacked and no plug was there, then my harness which is un-hacked has the plug...but my real questions were...

1. my car is obd2a, does/would a 99-00 (obd2b) civic si cd player work?
2. which OEM honda cd player lights up amber?
