is there a way i can get away from the hondata and run a program that id be able to tune myself ??
ecu doesnt really need a tune just want to disable a few sensors..
and change the rev limiter and vtec engagement point....

If you get a EPROM programmer (which you also would need for Hondata tuning) then you can use a freeware tuning program. It's the same process that you would need for Hondata, make your tuning changes and program a chip to plug into the ECU. Hondata just adds a few lines of code to the program so that the ECU looks for the Hondata board. This way you have to buy a Hondata board to use the Hondata software. It's the same thing as Windows software needing a USB or serial port dongle for copyright protection, like CAD programs, etc. Simple and they get their money. The freeware programs dont' have that, but they make the same changes to the stock code that you need to tune.
Dont mess with the setting unless you know what you are doing.... I have been in this game for so long and have attempted many things... but I have never had the guts to actually mess with tuning.... I like my set-up too much.... not worth the risk.... I leave the tuning aspect to the pros...
