Re: No vtec on my gsr.....
Grab a buddy and a multimeter, and check to see if the pressure switch is changing states when it should and that the VTEC solenoid output from the ECU is changing states when it should. Check right at the ECU connector. You'll have to do it when the car is moving obviously, which is why you need a buddy.
I can't remember, does the pressure switch open or close when it reaches the oil pressure threshold?

Oh, and they'll take you seriously too.
So no CELs at all, and no other indication of a problem? The only issue you can see is that VTEC doesn't seem to be engaging?

thanks guys. the only thing i havent replaced is the knock sensor. my mechanic said the oil pressures great. the car does have a ton of miles, 300,000 plus so im leaning towards a sensor.

You'll usually have a knock sensor CEL if the sensor goes bad, or have a noticeable drop in power when the ECU is retarding ignition timing..
Check the VTEC stuff and see where you stand, then you'll know if it's the ECU not engaging VTEC or if it's something engine or wiring related.

i ran into this problem with my gsr swap. replaced the knock sensor and it was good to go. all problems are dif., do some diagnosing before you throw parts at it, i promise it could turn out ugly
