No vtec?
I searched and found only a couple of things that applied.
It's a 00 Civic Si, completely stock. I checked the oil, and it's fine, even added some. EEK said he had the same problem awhile ago where it feels like it's choking. If I go half throttle to about 5,000rpms, itll sometimes choke and pick up again, and vtec does not engage. No codes are being thrown. Car idles fine, runs fine.
I know nothing about hondas, so I don't know even where to check. Any ideas?

Plugs? Wires? Distributor? Fuses? Fuel Injectors? Not really sure what it could be, but I'd check there. Specifically the plugs. Might be real dirty or not gapped correctly.

Re: No vtec?
no. pull it off and clean the filter. if it's not dirty then most likely the plunger has gotten stuck inside the solenoid itself and it's gone bad. you will probably need a new solenoid.
