Default no spark for cyl 1 and 4

i have a 98 gst that only sparks on 2 n 3...ignition coil, plugs and wires are good...could it be the ignition control module causing only the 2 n 3 coil side to sparK?

Could be the ignition control module. Little black box down on the side of the motor, on the timing belt side. I had one do the exact same thing and thats what it was.

The ICM could be a probable cause as well as a cam/crank sensor. Go to a junkyard and pocket the item or pay whichever you prefer for testing, but grab multiple ones.

Might be the power transistor, i know went out car was running on two cylinders. It tached half of what is was actualy doing. Little black thing on the side of the motor. Been a while since i messed with dsm's.

Eh, it depends. I'm not sure how DSM's are, Im more of a Honda based guy. But in an older civic of mine, when the cam sensor in the distributor started failing it halted 1 and 4 from getting spark from the distributor.

Either way, good luck with whatever you do find and post the results
