Default No spark

Anyone know now to test a distributor for spark? Or how to test individual components like the coil or ignitor? I have a multimeter.

just take a plug out and put it in the wire and set it on top of the valve cover and crank the car. Should see the plug fire or not

I did that, thats how I know it is not sparking. I have swapped out three coils and the ignitor once. It may be possible that they are all bad, but the one I have in their now was in my car running on Wed, when my engine seized. I don't think my distributor would care if I ran my car out of oil.

Also when I first turn my key forward, the possition between starting and accessory, I get a small spark out out of the spark plugs. It isn't blue like when you crank it, looks orange. I am getting power to the distributor also.

Checked for trouble codes, got a 15=Ignition output signal. tested the coil and igniter. Book said coil was bad, replaced it no luck. Book says new coil is bad also, I don't know which is right. I am out of ideas and will probably have it looked at by some one else.

Is it possible that the grounds (or lack there of) could be causing a problem?

Tried that too. The distributor has ground. the engine has ground and the ground wires that go to the thermostat are grounded.
