Default New to Hondas..need some answers!

Im hopefully buying a 99 Si from this forum, and it will be my first. I have had a mustang for about 3 years now. I plan on doing little stuff to it, the motor is bone stock. I have in mind to try to push atleast 200-240 to the wheels. ALL MOTOR.

I've been searching the forums for parts for sale, but i don't really know if it can be a direct bolt on with my motor.

Say a B20 head? Since its a b-series will it bolt directly on..and how about power? On mustangs you could take parts off of other ford based motors, such ass GT-40p/x heads and put them on the mustang..and feel a pretty big difference.

Same with other parts, like i saw a nice performance GSR intake manifold..can that only go on the GSR motor? Like i said..im a noob! But im trying to learn about it more, so give me some tips!

Ok well to help you answer some of your questions, You don't want to put a b20 head on your motor, for the reason that that would take away Vtec, which is a bad thing, since you are trying to make a all motor setup.

As far as what it would take for you to get 200-240 all motor, what is your price range? If you have a deep wallet, than a K-series swap would put you in that power range with simple bolt-ons no problem.

But typically bolt ons for a B-series will not put you in the over 200 range, the way you would do this with a B-series would be to build the motor, or at least the head.

Hope this helps at least a little, an by no means am I a expert or anything, so hopefuly someone with more experience can give you some more outlook/advice.

i would say buy a gsr motor and turbo it. that would put you in the 350-400 range.

get rid of the bullshit B16. You can keep the head, but thats it. Sell the block as soon as you can and pick up either a B20 or B18 block and purchase the Golden Eagle B20/LS vtec conversion kit and have it tuned and you should be around the 200whp mark NA.

GSR intake manifold WILL NOT bolt onto a B16 or type R head

You are going to need more than just that though.

true story man, you dont need it tuned or anything. you dont even have to install the turbo. just put it on top of the motor.

Your best be it to swap in a b20 bottom end and run a nice 75 shot, should put you close to what you want lol
