Well for starters I have a couple problems 1st of all like the title says I have a 90 hb with a 1.8ls motor in it and its throwing me code 14 right now but runs fine. What should I do? 2ndly where can I get a emissions and a state imspection if you know what I mean out there in the motor swap world?... Thanx

 

are you obd0 or obd1 i dont think u need emmision test in this state, and the inspection you can get at about any shop 16.00 bucks i know code 14 in obd1 is Idle Air control Valve its on the back of the intake manifold

 

code 14 is also iacv for obd0. Check the valve itself and see if it turns on with a straight feed from the battery.

If it turns on then the problem is the plug or wiring or ecu.

If it doesnt turn on then your iacv is bad.

 

In the state of VA you do need a emissions test thats why I was asking.. But would the IACV still be a problem if the car runs fine?

Just recently finished the project been through a lot with the car, its time to drive it.

 

ive never had an emmission test i lived in va all my life... unplug the iac while the car is running and see if it does any thing if it doesnt iac is bad

 

In some parts of VA you need it done, like fred woodbridge stafford spotsy and so on.
