I have a 1997 Dodge Stratus Es (Automatic) and I'm having some problems in the cold mornings. I drive out of the drive way in reverse put it in drive then my car doens't move. Ill press the gas and the rpms will go up and my car wont move. Ill switch it through park neutral and drive then ill press the gas it makes a jerking motion then it goes and runs like normal. What could the problem be?

 

check tranny fluid levels...that usually accounts for funny acting automatic transmissions.

 

ive seen Manual Lever Position Sensors cause that problem

 

checked all fluids and everythings good, do u have any idea what the problem could be, this morning i was driving at about 10 and i pressed the gas the rpms went up and i couldn't go faster, i released the gas, pressed it down and it jerked out of gear.
