my motor has a studder
Ok i recently picked up an eg coupe with the stock d16 vtech. At about 2000 rpms it creates a studder that makes the car jerk but it wont happen if you give it alot of gas. Previous owner said it was something like an iacv? Not to sure though.
Bute note the previous owner broke a bolt to the vtech silinoid and it leaks oil not sure if this would be part of the issue. If any info please help it tends to get annoying as shit while driving. Thanks

Re: my motor has a studder
Leaking oil at the solenoid might affect the crossover, but at 2000 rpms I don't see how it could do much.
Sounds like a bad O2 sensor, or even fouled plugs.
You just got the car so theres no telling how long its been since those things have been checked.

TPS or MAP sensor problem most likely, possibly O2 sensor. A small oil leak won't affect anything unless it can somehow drop the system pressure a lot. An IACV doesn't affect anything except at idle.
Does this symptom occur whether the engine is cold or hot, and at at different ambient (outside) temperatures?

Re: my motor has a studder
If you're not getting a CEL, you should be able to rule out the O2 sensor. The sensor (and the exhaust being monitored) are both affected by engine temperature, so there should be different results when the engine is cold and when it is warm. If the O2 sensor is bad enough that temp doesn't matter, there will usually be a sensor fault detected.

Very true but not always a guarantee a O2 sensor will throw the code. I know it should but I've seen it a few times on civic's.
Hell the one of my DA teg is fucked right now and not throwin a code.
