so i think a sensor might be hosed, regardless whether or not my parking brake is on in my 1990 dx hatch the ebrake light stays on. anyone got any ideas? ever had this problem before? the thing is bone stock its my A to B car

Ebrake switch. You probably have a dirty connection or the switch is worn out, possibly a wire is broken. It's a 17 year old car, that's a lot of ebrake movement.

Also, The actual brake light will come on too, if your low on brake fluid.

how would i replace the switch if thats the case?

lol i would feel so stupid if that was it, ill check it out, my brakes feel fine tho

Also, haha you don't have to feel stupid if your brake fluid is low. Shit happens and you don't know about it.

The switch is on the ebrake handle, under the center console. It's usually a really simple switch, it just completes a circuit to chassis ground and is usually just one wire. The switch contacts often corrode or the area around the ebrake will get some light surface rust because of age.
Check the fluid first.
