motor problem

Default motor problem

i wonder why does my civic motor over rev by it self when i turn on the my engine on with me pressing the gas all i did was hold the clutch and turn the key and the motor just went over 7 rpm and it over rev with me pressing the gas pedal why does it do that ??

I think cause you hit the gas pedal. Do you know how to drive a 5 speed?

yea i know how to drive a 5 spd and i did not hit the gas pedal at all nothing
i justr hold the clutch that it and the motor just over reved

sounds like a broken throttle cable though. does it ever go back down?

everytime i start it it wont idle or anyhitng it just stays on 7,000 rpm without me pressing the gas pedal i checked everything the throttle cable and everyhting just weird mofo help me !

i just look at the throttle body and it was opened does it suppose to be open or close beofre u start the engine ?

it should be barely open at a slight angle with a little space for air to pass, you prolly need to clean that bitch, its stuck open, your throttle cable should be pretty tite considering the throttle body is open,spray some throttle body cleaner in there and see if that helps.........the throttle plate should be pretty much vertical when the car starts, when you are at w.o.t it should be horizontal.........

oh oka weh i took off the mass air hose and look inside of the throttle body it was way open when the gas pedal cabel is tight with out me touching the pedal the cable is tight is it suppsoe to be loose when not pressing the gas ?

yes........it should be pretty much closed, it leaves a small gap at idle, so if you lubricate the throttle plate and lever that controls it it should go back to normal and youll see what im talking about........
