i have a mini-me swap with a D16z6 head, with a CX block and tranny. The gear ratio's are long. I can stay in 2nd gear up to 85mph!!!!! When i shift, it drops out of VTEC, drops bact to 4000rpm. VTEC dont hit until 5500rpm. I just recently brought a VAFC II, i was wondering would it be a good idea to set VTEC at 4k or buying an EX/Si tranny, then setting the VAFC II. Need help guys, thankz

 

ditch the hack, and get a chipped ecu.

you will need a ex/si trans.

if you set vtec down that low in a single cam, the motor will run like poo till 5k anyway.

 

get a tranny,lose the vafc,and have vtec set around 5200-5400,lower and you will be devistated with the power loss.

 

vtec is gay.

 

i was also wondering, since i have long gears would it be good to keep the same set-up and boost it?

yep, ex/si tranny. i had oe of those 80mph in 2nd gear trannys on my boosted setup, fuck that. kills the power.
