manual transmission question...
This is going to be hard to explain, but I'll try...
My transmission is sometimes "notchy", for lack of a better word...in other words, it doesn't always make a smooth transition into the gears. It's not to the point that it grinds...it kind of feels like it "gets stuck" on something when trying to put it into gear...it will go into the gear, it just feels like it gets caught on something in the process..it doesn't always happen though. some days it's like butter, some days it isn't. it's particularly bad when the drivetrain is cold, and better after it's warmed up, but still not perfect, even then...
any ideas on what the cause could be? the tranny fluid has been changed at all recommended intervals, and then some...the clutch still grabs ok...the car has never been beat on...could it be one of the bearings maybe? pilot or throwout?
I know I didn't give much of a description to go off of, but it's the best I can do, so thanks in advance for any thoughts on what the issue may be

Re: manual transmission question...
You know, now that you mention the clutch, I don't think it's ever been changed, and the car just turned over 71,300 miles...it doesn't get completely stuck on something, it just kind of feels like it gets caught on something in the process of going into the gear
I feel kind of dumb for not thinking of the clutch being so old....do you have an 01 civic by chance? (based on your s.n.)

mine does that too. I changed the clutch and tranny fluid, and it still happens. It got better when I changed the fluid, but it still happen...It mostly happen when its cold outside.
