True. A P72 will bump up your compression and AEBS, Blox, Wicked Industries, and Skunk 2 all make IM for the GSR head. As far as Pistons go, if you want extreme you can use CTR pistons(with CTR's you have to machine either the rod or the piston 1mm to make fit) for really high compression or P30(JDM B16; will fit with no machining) for a lil bump in Compression. Also I recommend shotpeening the rods and use ARP 8mm rod bolts since you will more than likely take the motor over 7400 rpms.

gsr should yield the highest compression ratio... i could be crazy here. higher comp = more power. you want the highest cr possible without the piston wacking the head or the valves colliding. and most b16 heads u dig up are older than dirt, thusly the springs are sacked out and can lead to valve float at high rpm... no good

You would probably get the best power gains from a D15 head.

u can, but i know some people have run into problems with clearance. this was then they advanced timing.

back when i was ls/vtec here is what my plan what. maybe it will help you.

B18 Block
P30 (usdm b16a3) pistons
Shotpeened ls rods
any form of Vtec head
Golden Eagle LS/VTEC Kit (included sandwhich plate and dowels so u dont have to drill the head and all the lines and -an fittings you need)
B16A3/2 Transmission (GSR would also work)
GSR Cams
GSR ARP Head Studs
LS HeadGasket
P30 Intake Manifold
Any 4-1 Header
B16A3 Distributor
P72 ECU (made a HUGE difference over P28 or P30)

The B16A3 Came in the DEL SOL DOHC VTEC model and u can get it in OBD1 (if ur running OBD2 i suggest P2T which is B16A2 00-99 SI) or (if u run OBD0 get the B16A JDM crx/civic sir or teg xsi parts)
