ok just finished up the ls vtec swap in my eg. b18b1 block, b18c1 head. everything is put back together. i am using a virgin b16 ecu. i start the car and everything is cool. if i slowly give it gas it bogs out. if i punch the gas itll rev rite up. any thoughts?

Re: ls vtec
personally,i would start off by changing that ecu. a stock b16 ecu is not the proper ecu to be running an ls vtec.
your running a 1.8 engine on a 1.6 ecu, different fuel consumption, fuel and ignition curves etc. you could be short on fuel if your just slowly accelerating. 1.8 motors have different fuel ratios under load and at idle, but once you stab the gas maybe its getting enough to properly burn at that rpm. The ecu is the first thing that jumps out at me that you should change, or at least put a tuning program in and adjust for a 1.8.
