I got a ticket for "failure to display front plate", when it was in the front winshield the other day, now i am going to court for it. There isnt anywhere to put it on the front of my car because of my kit. Some people have told me that it is legal to have it in the front winshield. is this true??

 

yup sure is........cops give peeps tickets for stupid shit. i got one for illegal turn signals once cause they wernt amber and i almost got one for my plate bein in the windshield.

 

It needs to be mounted on your front bumper. The front window does not count

 

That's amazing. I haven't had a front plate on my DSM since I bought in 1993. I've gotten pulled twice for it and both times the cops seemed more interested in DID I atleast have it, or was it stolen.

 

If it is on your front windshield, it is considered a missile and you are more likely to get a ticket for it. The law states that you must have a plate mounted on your front bumper, even though some more expensive vehicles do not come with stock mounting locations / holes.
Some cops will ticket you for it, some will not.
The last time I got pulled, the cop didn't cite me for it as he agreed it would be a shame to ruin the front of my car w/ a license plate.
I would just suck it up and pay the fine.

 

haha, if im going to pay the dam fine the bitch is goin back in my front winshield....can the cop pull u over just for the plate? or do u have to get pulled over for somethin else?

 

i got pulled just for failure to display the front plate....the stupid cops reason was "what if you were involved in a hit and run and the guy that was running didnt have his license plate, you wouldnt be able to tell who it was"....but then again, virginia law is gay

 

Well if it was hit & run more than likely you would be trying to get his plate # from the back of his car and not the front of his car.

 

unless he was a good ass driver in reverse
