Default Lap Belts

Not sure where I should post this so Im going to in here.

I have a 92 240 convertible and I hate the doors on it. I want to switch to the coupe doors but my seat belts are in the door unlike the coupe which has it in the pillar.

I was thinking of mounting the seatbelt behind the door area but that is back behind and down the side... and is a pain in the ass to mount. The other Idea I have is Lap belts and I was wondering about the legal issues with those, does anyone know if it would be legal or where I could find the info??

Im also planning on getting a roll bar and using 4 point harnesses but I know those are govt safety approved so I know they wont be good for the street.

Thanks

I would just put harnesses in it. That is what I have and it is easy as pie.

Yeah but from what Ive been told those arent legal and I could still get stopped by cops... Im wondering if lap belts were a easy way to cheat the rules abit.

don't know if you've seen this article yet but it shows you how to remove the seatbelt pillars.
