Default ignition switch fuse red hot. smoking coil.

ok so my 240 has been down so have been trying to get back to running these past 4 days. it had no spark, put in a msd blaster with ballast. then all sortsa shit went bad.

well today after getting everything ready i go to turn over. battery's dead. so hook up jumper cables and try and start 240. makes horrible starter noise (not grinding teeth but trying to turn over) then go check out fuses and ignition switch is blown. replace it with another and stars getting red hot (ignition to on). and over by my msd (looked like the resistor) started smoking....

any ideas?

Get rid of the MSD. I had the same issues with a car I owned a few years back. Solution- throw the msd bullshit in the trash.

If you decide against this, all I can say is good luck

+1. If the fuse is getting hot like that there is something wrong. There is something that is drawing too many amps, and if this only started when u installed the MSD i would get rid of it or doublecheck the wireing.

well i wired in the msd with the resistor only because my stock resistor went bad. so maybe i wired the resistor for msd wrong but idk honestly

ok. my stock resistor had 4 wires (coil +, coil -, resistor - and ecu wire) so i cut the + and - for coil and wired it to the resistor. the stock resistor and ecu wire are still plugged in. and another ground is grounded on msd too.

quick ? the msd reistor isn't case grounded is it?
