Default idling too high, please help

one last problem with my swap.(jdm b16a into 98 civic)..the idle is too high, around 1800. it was 2000 but then i tightened the the screw on the throttle body and it went down a little but its still too high.

someone i talked to said i may have plugged in the wrong plug into the IACV and to switch around with other plugs that were the same size.

i could i find 1 more plugged that looked like it and it was the power steering plug. both are pictured below.

the harness is the 98 ex harness and the plug that was on the power steering had wire colors green and black. the one on the IACV had yellow and blue wires.

judging from the pictures of the IACV plugs in this diagram:

my 2 wire IACV plug should have green and black wires.

so logically i switched the plugs on the power steering and IACV so the IACV one would be black and green. when i did this the idle dropped but only to 1500 and surged continuously, fluctuating from 1400 to 1600 rpm.

however with the blue and yellow wired plug on the IACV, it has a constant idle at 1800.

both of these situations have idles at least 1000 rpm too high. does anyone know how i can get my idle down? i've checked the hoses but which specific vacuum hoses should i check for leaks? thanks in advance

you can't rely on the picture with the green and blk wires cause they could come from any car... try to look for vac leaks and try to set base idle... to check your tps back probe the middle wire on the sensor and turn your tb open slowly (with engine off and key on the "on" position) if the numbers jump erraticly you have a bad tps... but i doubt the tps is bad...

Why the hell does a power steering pump have a connector on it?

not the pump, its the line that goes from the pump to the back near the firewall, and i dont know why it has a plug

and the plugs are all from my stock 98 ex harness so according to the picture of the IACV plugs the 98 ex should have green and black wires for the IACV

which hoses should i be checking for leaks, just any of the vacuum hoses?

Yup. Any vac line connected to the intake manifold can cause idle issues. Also any holes that aren't properly plugged/sealed on the intake manifold will also cause it.
