Ok heres the deal..i have a 92 prelude w/ a f22a1 and I cant seem to figure out the idle surge problem.The problem exists both when the cars cold and hot,in gear and out of gear. I will pay if somone can figure this thing out or maybe someone could point out a good shop in the hampton/nn area.Im leaning toward it being either a wring issue or the ecu.

Heres a list of things ive done


Tps
Iac valve
Fuel filter
egr valve and gasket
egr control valve solenoid
constant vacuum control valve/egr vacuum control valve
plugs
cap/rotor
air filter
full of coolant/and no air in system
no vacum leaks and the hoses are in correct position

The only codes its throwing are 12(egr lift sensor) and 23(knock sensor)

on another note does anyone have gene from tunners edge number or a way to contact him b/c im sure he could figure this out???

 

This is just a shot in the dark so dont hold me to it. But from the codes you are pulling Im thining that the EGR valve is stuck open at idle causing your mixture to lean out badly causing knock. Which will set off the knock code.

Like I said, just a shot in the dark. I hate doing internet diagnosis.

 

Thats what i thought too so i blocked the egr off and still the idle problem exxists....Im goin crazy tryin to figure this out.

 

dont block it off...replace it!

alright ill do that and see if it works.

 

ok i changed the egr and reset the ecu. The idle problem still exists but now its only ever now n then, and its still jumpy in gear. It is also still throwin a cel 12 and 23 when u go over 40mph ??? What should i try now....
