Im looking to buy my second Toyota MR2. I found one in Georgia for $4500. (Turbo) The car was a N/A, but they got a 3S-GTE engine swap. The person selling the car said that there was about $10,000 invested into the body, inside, and mods...ect.
They said the only thing that was wrong with the car was there was a clicking noise in the engine compartment, they said that they had someone come out and look at it, but they didnt find anything wrong with it. so i was wondering if any one could tell me what they thought was wrong with the car, and if i should buy it any way cause its only $4500. please HELP!!! mr2 turbo's suck! maybe just the two i've had! Well the ticking sound could be a million things. I've had basically every rattle you could think of so if you can get a description from exactly where its coming from, i could prolly tell you whats wrong w/ it! 4500 for a two is pretty cheap. If its a converted turbo it prolly won't have turbo exterior parts like the turbo engine lid, fog lights, turbo guages, and matching door gaurds. You better realize what your gettin into, unless you do your own mechanics work, this car is a bitch when i comes to labor! oh and i own a 91 turbo right now. let me know if i can help.
