How much offset?
I am getting ready to get some new wheels. I have a 97 civic EK. Right now I'm 15x6.5 +40mm offset wheels with no camber kit. It looks like the back fenders are rolled from the previous owner. I am looking at getting some DR-16/DR-20s that are 15x7. With the tires being .5 inch wider will I need to have a lower offset for a more stanced look? Or will the wider wheels make it look nice with no offset? The DR-20s come in 40, 15, 10, and 0 offset. I was wondering if I could run 15 in the front and back without having to do any more work on the fenders.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: How much offset?
Yeah it really depends on the size of your tires. I know my brother is running 15x8's with a 12 offset on his ek hatch with just rolled fenders fine. He's low and only rubs on bumps.

Re: How much offset?
Think of it this way: You want to go with a 7" width (still pretty narrow) so you're going to add 1/2 inch total to the width, or 1/4 inch per side. Then you want to go with a +15 instead of a +40, so that's another 25mm toward the outside. 25mm is almost an inch (25.4mm is an inch just to be accurate) so you're going to move the edge of the wheel a total of 1.25 inches toward the outside of the car from where the wheels are now. So grab a ruler or tape measure and see where that ends up......
Not rocket science, just elementary math.
You're probably also moving your scrub radius a shitload away from stock, but that's a different story. I imagine that you don't care about steering geometry if you're trying to go for some trandy stance bullshit.
