Arrow high compression with boost???

alright here is the setup.. I have a d16z6 motor with ZC domed pistons in a 92 hatch and i want to see if i could run a td04 eclipse turbo with about 5 lbs of boost without throwing anything out of my motor. i think that the compresstion with just the pistons is 12:1 or something like that.
If someone has ever done this or has any knowledgeable info that they wouldnt mind dropping on this thread it will be greatly appreciated.

you can do it. Hell you can do anything given the money. But your going to have to worry about what gas your going to run into it- detonation is not your friend.

Is this going to be a daily driver? If you, you might want to get an adjustable cam gear so you can retard the shit out of it and still run pump gas.

High compression like that on a z6 boosted will just blow unless you have a uber tune and race gas and even then probably won't work.

I don't know about 12:1 compression+boost of any sort. I wouldn't chance it if it was your daily driver.

i've heard it'll kill your motor faster running boost on high compression so i'd think it wasnt a good idea or i would have done it by now

Low boost would probably be fine. What kind of compression do S2ks run? Quite a few people are running boost. Just make sure you have a nice tune.

it is a daily driver i really dont care about blowing the motor i have another single cam that is being built that i could throw in it. thanx for the thoughts ppl one last question what is an equation that you can use to find out how much hp you gain from every lbs of boost.

High compression + boost doesnt kill motors. It makes insane power...the only problem you are going to run into is being able to tune it well enough so that it wont detonate like a motherfucker on the street with 93 octane. Hondata at the least would be necessary to keep the motor from even knocking.

Edit:

And you better make sure you never run that fucker knocking. Those z6 rods are only as big around as a sharpie pen....so they REALLY don't take abuse well.

Not a good comparison, there is much more to detonation than just compression.
The combustion chamber design has a lot to do with it as far as quench zones, etc., and the same with piston type. You can run the exact same compression with the 2 different engines and the same amount of boost and one may detonate at a completely different point than the other. There isn't an apples to apples comparison here..
