will a 95 civic ex motor fit into a 2000 civic ex as a replacement

You're talking about two different OBD's. Some sensors would have to be changed out. Im not a pro on the differences but the IM might have to get changed. Hopefully, you can get a response from someone who knows the full works.

Yeah, use your stock harness on the new sohc vtec. Get an OBD jumper for an OBD2-B setup. 99-00 cars (except HX D16Y5 model) use the A,B, and C plug on the ecu, 96-98 cars (along with 99-00 HX D16Y5) use the A, B, and D plugs on the ecu. If you get the wrong jumper, you'll get stuck.

You'll have to do some wiring on the harness to make it work with the motor, like stated the dizzy plug, add some vtec wiring (which you can wire right into the jumper), etc. If it's an OBD1 vtec motor then your crank fluctuation wiring can go (down by the oil pump housing), etc.

Your gonna need to do some reading, as well as get some diagrams for your car, as well an OBD1 diagram for a Civic. This isn't necessary, but having done wiring and swaps for years, trust me the more informed you are, the better off you'll be.

If you really feel like you can't hack it, then get someone to build the harness for you locally. Don't just let some quack do it though, be sure the guy knows what's going on (few and far between in my experience). Last resort would be to go through Rywire or Hasport....

just change intake manifold sensors and you should be straight i put a 00 ex into a 94 ex the only thing is some senors might not plug in just check them and see . no fab is needed they use all the same mounts
