delete thread..... thanx guys i got it.... it was just a tight squeeze... i had the tensioner all the way down and i had to force fuck the belt to get it on but i got it

yes. all b16As use the same timing belt. no difference at all.

is there a tensioner? i've never done a timing belt before but if it's just short i would assume there is something there for adjustment that is slightly off.

RP has it right, the B16A's are the same. And Fabrik8 is likely dead on as to the culprit. That or whoever you bought the belt from is giving you the Canadian SOHC belt in which case you should immediately return to the place of purchase and proceed to smack the idiot across the head with said belt.

Hopefully though the later isn't the case as you very likely don't have a Honda belt then, which you -should-.

they are all the same! sometimes they are just a pain in the butt.

yes there is a tensioner, make sure it is loose enough to move freely. route the belt on in this order:
1-crank
2-tensioner
3-water pump
4-exhaust cam
5-intake cam
